Many years ago
the council of Tartous city placed
ugly sweepings
ball (dump site)
which is tour down upon the sea and cabanas,
this land joins the treasures of our
phoenician ancestors ; it is
Azar
Cemetery.
This has been happened but how , and
why? |
What did the
Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums do to prevent the
sweepings hill from
expanding on the archeological hill?It
is Fact that start removing (or moving) the
dump place comes as aresponse to touring utilization plans. |

A base of an
archeological column has thrown carelessly
with the rubbish. |
An archeological hill was
drifted away to expand the dump place.
The small upper hole is a pot base -see the
next photo in the bottom- while the big hole
seems as if something has been drawn off it. |

The base of the
archeological
pot in the hill wall (in the upper photo)
bulldozers broke it during the expansion of
the dump place. |

An
archeological shoulder
rich with crockeries
fractures , the
dump site bulldozers
smashed it, drifted it out
and threw it in piles. |
Among the fractions of the previous crockery cud
in the archway we can see a
almost complete small
jar. |

Should we learn from this little child?
While the bulldozers work...
He is gathering with
love and interest the crockery
fractures ; Left as
gifts of his ancestors thousands of years ago
