‘Love Kills’

The article contained several positive and important points. The minister of culture’s response to Nadia’s article’ The Results of Knowledge and Human Work’.

  • In the meeting with the Mayor of Tartous, we didn’t adopt any decisions that include: destroying, removing, or permitting to build over the ruins and the archeological discoveries. And we didn’t go past any previous decisions that former ministers confirmed (approved).

  • We took charge of protecting what became the memory of an ancient nation, where we find our personality (identity) and our cultural treasure in its heritage.

But on the other hand in a worrying form, the minister used a tone (a manner of speech) and self-suggestions that we hoped not to hear in a minister of culture’s speech while addressing educated people who have their own values and history, because that vibrates his picture and weakness his position.

Also we came to notice in the article the speech which revels that the human interest and development are conflicting with the protection of the archeological and cultural heritage. And that is a huge and a very dangerous fallacy (analogism).

‘Results of knowledge and Human Work’
An important article by Dr. Nadia:

  • Syria isn’t a poor man who is forced to sell his national treasures.

  • It is the cultural ministry’s duty to protect the archeological treasures, because these treasures are the production of many generations and the out come of previous civilizations. And no one has the right o waste it.

  • decisions of Tartous are quite dangerous on the Syrian cultural heritage.

  • from a constitution covered by noble mottos grew privation and disintegration.

  • The misleading utilization of some expressions and terms, including ‘development’.

The increasing number of the archeological findings and the persisting need for repairing and keeping them. A gateway for touring investment. Establishing museums is a need for protecting them from violations.

The essay shows the importance of keeping ruins and establishing museums for them.It also shows that the work of the volunteers' team was a kind of an apology toward the ignorance and the non-loyalty to its presented civilization. The volunteers' team has this feeling of belonging, responsibility, and the loyalty to the history of this country without making meetings or taking permission from anyone because the good work does not need any permission.
